Slipping on Ice

Hello! I hope you're all having a good week. I'm not. :I

I have two tests tomorrow, and one on Friday as well. How exciting! *rolls eyes*

And if homework isn't already bad enough, it snowed, hailed, and rained both Monday and Tuesday. Of course, the moisture was imperative. We needed it - badly. Lately the weather's been as high as the 50's, 60's, and rarely the 70's. Mainly the 40's though. Heck, who cares if I go to school without a coat!?

I was so happy that it snowed, I just wanted to frolic in the white, fluffy powder all day long. Whee! :D

I love snow, but I don't think snow likes me very much. On Tuesday morning, at about 7:10 A.M., I sat in the front room, waiting for the kid who lives a few houses above me to start walking down to the bus stop at the bottom of the street. I figured I would save myself a lot more time that way.

Well, I waited for roughly five minutes, but the kid wasn't in sight.

I began to panic.

I ran out the front door and squinted at the bus stop. I couldn't see anyone there, because it was still dark.

But what I could see were footprints leading directly to the bus stop.

Now I was really panicking. In fact, my face drooped with horror.

All of a sudden, a bright, yellow light came into view.

It was the bus!

I knew I had to make a run for it.

I sprinted as fast as my cold, numb feet could go.

Unfortunately, my knees buckled at the wrong time, and...

... I slipped and fell!

That darn snow was so slick and slippery that I lay there on the wet cement unconsciously, unknowing of what was going on.

I immediately snapped out of it and ran back up to my house. I hadn't quite realized I was in tears until I was no longer in a daze.

With my hard luck, I had missed the bus, and I was covered head to toe in bitter snow.

Thankfully, my grandpa was gracious enough to give me a ride to school. Miserably, I trudged into the school, only to get pounds - no, tons - of homework. -.-

All afternoon I was feeling rather ill, so the next day (today) I slept in and missed 1st Period. No big deal.

I needed another ride to school, so my grandpa was kind to lend me one.

He was already at my house when I woke up, but he hadn't brought his silver Toyota with him. That meant we were going to have to walk up to his house to retrieve it.

On the way up, I slipped again.

What a coincidence.

But it wasn't snow.

It was PURE ICE!

Some ninny was too lazy to shovel their driveway and get rid of all the dangerous ice, slush, and snow, so I ended up flat on my butt for the second time in a row.

Honestly, my butt wasn't the part of my body that was bruised the most. It was my right hand.

A big, purple blotch was fixed in my palm. I think I landed on a nerve or something, and that set internal bleeding right off the bat. >.<

OKAY! THE STORY OF MY LIFE IS DONE.

The story of my life, I take her home, I drive all night, and time... is froooooozzzen....

^3^

Anyway, the results have been posted for the Animal Trivia contest, so be sure to check the contest blog to see if you've won!

Also, the howl page is open once again, so please write a quick little howl and it will be submitted! :)

Okie, buh-bye!
