The Daily Explorer: Then and Now

Hey Jammers! :) It's glad to be back for the few days that I am. :P

Today we're going to be talking about the Daily Explorer, Animal Jam's one and only official blog run by AJHQ themselves.

The Daily Explorer opened in early 2012. Its layout looked like this:

Nowadays it looks like this:

There are quite a few differences between the two layouts. The backgrounds are different, the headers are different, the fonts are different, the image designs are different, etc.

Can you point out any other differences you see? How about similarities? I noticed that the main posts are on the left side of the blog, while the buttons/icons/images are located on the right side of the blog on both layouts.

Eh, I know today's post wasn't that great but I tried.

I'm Back!

Hey y'all! I'm back from camp. It was one of the best weeks of my entire life without a doubt; I had so much fun and made so many new friends. I'm sad that I had to leave but also happy to be back for a few days. I was getting sorta homesick anyway. XD

I don't really know what else to say, so, umm... bye?

Jamaa Journal VOL. 177: Sloths Are Here!

Hey Jammers! ^.^ We've all been waiting a very long time for the sloths to arrive, and today they are finally here! :D Let's see what is in store for us in the update.

As expected, sloths are available in the Diamond Shop for members only, but AJHQ put a small twist on these new animals...

They only cost five diamonds! I have to say, the sloths looked nothing like what I had pictured in my mind. o.0

Pet hummingbirds are back, and there's a new princess outfit in the Diamond Shop. AJHQ and their princessy ways. :p

Just like every year the Jamaaliday party is back for a few days, starting on Sunday and ending on next Thursday. If you happen to swing by the party make sure to grab a pet reindeer if you haven't got one already, because pet reindeer are sooo cute. :3

Graham's Workshop will be leaving soon, sadly, so stock up on those special items.

Cheetahs are gone and kangaroos will be returning soon!

Some neat sloth facts... ooh!

It looks like if you purchase a membership gift card you receive a pet meerkat along with three cool items!

625K Views Party Invitation

Hey! As you may already know, we recently hit 625,000 views, which calls for a PARTY! :D

Sadly, I will be gone for a bit over a week, and then I return for two days, and then I leave for another week, so I won't be posting much within the next few weeks. Wow, that's a lot of ''weeks''. xD

I'm going to stay at a condo with my friend, then I'm going to a summer camp, then I'm going to another camp at a lake, and lastly I'm going to stay at a hotel with our neighbors. From here on out, our summer is pretty much packed. I'm excited to go on all these trips, but also sad because I'll miss you guys. :(

Anyway, enough of that sappy stuff. Since I'm so busy, I'm going to have to host the party later this afternoon. I know it's on short notice, but at least y'all know why.

I hope this works out... ugh, I'm just so sad I won't be seeing you guys for a while...

I'll try my best to take lots of pictures and videos while I'm gone so you guys can check out all of my adventures.

Keep whipping!

Color Palettes

Hello! How are you all doing? ^.^

Today we are going to be discussing color palettes. You know, the little board in your customization screen with all of the different colors to choose from? That kind of palette. ;)

During beta testing, the palette was rather small and gave you a very limited amount of colors to choose from.

Some of the colors you see here are no longer accessible. Some of the colors were much brighter or darker than what we have today.

Once beta ended, the color palette changed to this:

It looks awfully different compared to the beta testing version. A few of the colors from the beta palette disappeared. :(

Then the palette updated again.

This time we got a variety of different shades of colors.

And now back to modern days...

The color palette has definitely evolved a lot over the years. I can't wait to see how the color palette will update in the future, if it ever does. :P

Animal Jam Spotlight: Fuzzy Shyivy

Hello Jammers! :) Today is Tuesday, which means it's time for another Animal Jam Spotlight!

In this post, we will be spotlighting Fuzzy Shyivy.

If you've stuck around in the blogging community for a very long time, you probably know who Fuzzy is already. Fuzzy was the very first Animal Jam blogger.
Her blog was called the Animal Jam Rush. You can view it here.

The blog was opened on August 9th, 2010 and closed in 2013. Because of her blog, others were inspired to make their blogs. Some of these people were WitchHatBunny (LoveLost/Meloetta385), Pumaa, Slidoo, and snowyclaw. Soon the Animal Jam community we know and love (erm, at least most of us love it) was born.

People expanded from blogs to YouTube channels and other social media apps/sites. Now most of the community either makes videos, posts on Instagram or another social media app/site, or just simply plays the game. Some of us still blog, which is great because blogs are awesome. ^.^

Although Fuzzy is no longer around, it is important that we all remember her and what she did for the community as a whole. Without her, this blog may have never existed. It's a shame nobody really knows who she is anymore.
