Heartstones for Other Lands

Hey Jammers!

With the arrival of Balloosh, it has now been confirmed that heartstones not only exist for animals, but for lands, too. So, today I thought it would be fun to share some edits of heartstones for other areas of the game that I've made. Enjoy!

Let me know in the comment which one is your favorite! Bye bye!

1.1 Million Views

Hey guys! Guess what? We hit 1.1 million views!

Thank you all so much!

To celebrate, I will be hosting a party as well as a contest! I've had the idea to do an Animal Jam Kahoot contest/party for a long time, but sadly the program is only designed for use by people in "classroom" settings, meaning everyone playing is sitting in the same area as you with the questions displayed on a projector screen.

So, instead, I made a trivia quiz on Google Forms. Click here for more info!

And here is the invitation for the party...

I hope you all can make it!

Once again, thanks! Without you all, this blog wouldn't be where it is today.

Bye Jammers!

Animal Jam Secret Valentines: Good or Bad?

Hey Jammers! Welcome to the Animal Jam Whip blog. Today, we're going to be having a little bit of a debate.

Just in time for the Friendship Festival this year, AJHQ added something quite unique to the game - something we hadn't ever seen before: Secret Valentines.

During the month of February 2018 (which, by the way, is almost over), you have the option to send a letter as either a regular JAG or a Secret Valentine. If you choose to send it as a Secret Valentine, the receiver will not know you sent the letter to them because the tag where your username normally is will be replaced by ''Secret Valentine''. It's pretty self-explanatory, really.

Secret Valentines are a great way to send kind messages or gifts to other Jammers without them knowing who sent them it. Take a look at this super nice Secret Valentine I received a couple of weeks ago. This acts as an example of the proper way to use the Secret Valentine method.

However, sometimes Jammers will take advantage of the Secret Valentines and misuse them to send rude messages to others. The picture above is an example of this. Personally, I thought the letter was actually quite hilarious, but you never know if someone might take your words to offense.

The problem here is that you can't see who sent you the message, so if you wanted to report or block them, you're out of luck, thus bringing me to the whole point of this post: are Secret Valentines good or bad?

In my opinion, I believe it all depends on how you use it, but I'd like to know what you guys think.

That's all for now. Make sure to leave a comment telling me your thoughts on Secret Valentines!

Bye Jammers!

Dash Tag is Here!

Hello everybody! Big news - the latest Animal Jam app is finally here!

It's called Dash Tag, and although it's been out for Canadians for a few months, just recently it was made available to other countries, including the United States. You can download it for free from the App Store and Google Play Store.

If you're familiar with the popular games Subway Surfers or Temple Run, you'll pick up how to play Dash Tag almost instantly.

screenshot evade capture

The goal of the game is to avoid being captured by Misha the panda. Based on the context, I assume Misha is babysitting a bunch of pets, and as soon as you tap ''RUN'', the pets escape, thus causing Misha to chase after you.

You can slide under and jump over obstacles, collect keys to open chests with prizes inside, collect emeralds and coins to purchase awesome extras, catch pets which you can run as, and so much more!

I downloaded Dash Tag two nights ago and so far, I'm addicted! It's truly a lot of fun, although I wish there was some way you could hook up your regular Animal Jam account to it.

So what are you waiting for? Download Dash Tag today!

Bye Jammers!

Hey Jammers!

Today is a revolutionary day in Jamaa. A day like this hasn't occurred for several years - five years, to be exact. The last time there was a day like this was in the summer of 2013.

Yes, today, us Jammers finally get the thing we've been anticipating for oh so long - a brand new LAND!

The area up in the top left corner of the map that has been speculated to become a new land FOREVER is finally a land, and its name is Balloosh.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the name, but the land itself is pretty awesome. Let's take a look at it!

Here is the ancient rock that brought us all here in the middle of the land.

As you go up the stairs on your left, you will come across a mysterious temple-like building covered in thick, green vines. I wonder what it could be!

I love the lanterns hanging from the trees scattered all throughout Balloosh. Very aesthetic.

This is the view from the tippity top of the treehouse.

There are numerous waterfalls that flow into the ponds in Balloosh.

These strange rocks remind me of Stonehenge. What could their purpose possibly be?

The shop in Balloosh is called Ancient Antiquities.

It currently only has six items for sale, and five of them are for members only. That petrified tree would look great in nature dens!

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the new land. I love the wetland biome they've given it. It reminds me of that one part in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest when Jack Sparrow and his crew navigate their way through the bayou to find Tia Dalma, the voodoo priestess.

I also love the music for the land. I hope we'll be able to purchase it and use it in our dens someday!

A Journey Book guide for Balloosh will be up sooner or later, so keep checking the blog daily for that.

Thanks for reading, and have fun as you explore Jamaa's newest land!

Stamps for the Friendship Festival

Hey Jammers! Recently, a friend of mine informed me that there are four new stamps to use for JAGs, and they're all Friendship Festival themed!

I'm assuming these stamps won't be here for long, or at least until the Friendship Festival activities are over with, so use them while you can!

In all honesty, I don't think these stamps are new. The art style of the stamps makes it look like these were recycled from earlier years of Animal Jam - perhaps 2011 or 2012 ish.

That's the whip! Thanks for reading, and see you next time!

The Sploth: An Animal Jam Horror Story

Once upon a time, there lived a fifteen-year-old boy named Grassy Smartyraccoon. At school, Grassy was socially unaccepted, yet he was one of Jamaa's smartest animals in the field of science and math. He was not as academically inclined in the grammar/rhetoric part of the school curriculum, oddly enough.

Grassy struggled with anxiety for the majority of his life. His parents drowned in the waters of Crystal Sands on a vacation when he was very young. Ever since then, he lived alone in his parents' mansion deep within the Sarepia Forest, with no family or friends to help him. The stress of keeping up with school academically and attempting to sell his wacky inventions to sustain himself took quite the toll on his mental health, but he kept pushing forward nonetheless.

One day while daydreaming in a college-level physics class, Grassy had an idea. With all of the anxiety he was dealing with at the time, it was difficult for Grassy to get a proper amount of sleep each night. He drank plenty of caffeinated beverages to keep him going throughout each day, but he knew the drinks weren't helping all that much. Grassy's idea was to create his own energy drink with a grand total of 500 mg of caffeine. He would name it ''Void Juice''.

For the next several months, Grassy would use his knowledge he gained from previous chemistry classes to formulate a recipe for Void Juice. Along with caffeine, it would include medicines, like NyQuil and Adderall, for better health results. The slogan of his product would be "Sweet Release", because it would aid him in dealing with his anxiety and emotional pain.

His recipe was nearly complete. According to his calculations, all he needed to do to perfect the formula was to add 250 mL of ''chlorine acid'', as well as a gallon of liquefied chlorine gas. Unfortunately, Grassy didn't do enough research on chlorine gas, because chlorine gas is what they used in World War I as chemical warfare. As Grassy poured the chlorine gas into the mixture, he immediately suffered a heart attack due to the exposure of the toxins in the gas and died on the spot.

Grassy was so isolated from Jamaa that he took about six weeks for anyone to realize he was missing. However, it was not another animal who discovered Grassy's dead boy. It was the spirits of phantoms from long, long ago who took his body out of the mansion to a secret area even deeper in the Sarepia Forest where they performed an ancient ritual involving roasting the body over a fire pit in attempt to bring Grassy back to life. This was no act of kindness, considering the phantoms were behind it all. Instead of bringing Grassy back to his normal, teenage self, they turned him into a demon creature, and cursed the demon to haunt the mansion for all time and eternity.

Eventually, the mansion was cleaned out by the authorities.

A year later, the mansion went up for sale and was purchased by a bunny family known as the Chillyspirits. The father, Mister Chillyspirit, had just been recruited by the Alphas to help fight off the Phantoms, so mother, Miss Chillyspirit, was left to tend to her two kids: Dancing and Spring.

One autumn evening, Miss Chillyspirit was running errands in Jamaa Township. Dancing was put in charge of her younger sister Spring until Miss returned. Once Dancing put Spring down for her nap, she decided to take a look around her new home and explore a bit.

After exploring, Dancing wanted to read a book. As she was grabbing a book from the bookshelf, she felt a cold wind brush against her face. Curious to see where the breeze had come from, with all her might she moved the bookshelf to uncover a stairway. Dancing wedged herself between the bookshelf and walked down the creaky stairs.

The stairs led to a secret room beneath the mansion. Apparently the authorities didn't do a very good job at cleaning out the house, because in the room was Grassy's chemistry equipment - and the Void Juice.

Unsure of what the strange, black, bubbling liquid was, Dancing climbed up the ladder to where the opening of the bottle was. Just as she reached to open the cork, Dancing heard a loud, crashing sound coming from Spring's room and immediately climbed down the ladder and dashed up the stairs to investigate.

It was not a pretty sight.

Spring's normally porcelain white fur was drenched in thick, red blood. Dancing frantically tried to find a heartbeat, but there was none. Spring was dead.

Dancing didn't know what to do. She was experiencing millions of emotions at once: panic, sadness, anger, confusion, and grief. Dancing collapsed onto the ground and cried. She was scared, but she was not alone.

Out of the corner of her wet, tear-filled eye, Dancing spotted a dark shadow on the wall in the shape of a sloth. Although nothing was there to be seen, the shadow gradually crept closer and closer to Dancing. She felt another cold wind blow against her face, similar to the one that occurred when she grabbed the book from the bookshelf.

Dancing knew she had to get out of the house as quickly as possible, but the death of her sister had made her muscles weak.

Just as she began to crawl towards the exit, her path was blocked. She bumped into a sweaty, smelly, terrifying creature.

Dancing was too late.

The Sploth had emerged from the shadows and was standing right in front of her.

The Sploth's breath reeked of coyote meat, deer flesh, and Fritos. His hair was greasy and stinky, as if a mother rat died while giving birth to her babies in it.

"Who are you!?" Dancing wailed.

"I am the Sploth," the creature boomed. "I own this house."

"Why did you kill my sister!?"

"Reasons. It's nothing personal, really."

"I might ask you the same thing. Why are you in my mansion?"

"You're crazy! My parents bought this place! It's ours now!"

"Not anymore it's not!"

Dancing tried to kick the Sploth in the shin, but ultimately failed. The Sploth picked Dancing up and pinned her throat against the wall.

"How about I make you a deal?" the Sploth said. "If you want your puny little sister back, you have to do exactly what I tell you."

"Anything..." Dancing croaked.

"You must go downstairs to my laboratory and give my Void Juice a taste-test."

"Your what?"

"The black stuff, dummy!" the Sploth yelled angrily and put even more pressure on Dancing's throat. "I saw you down there not too long ago. You know what I'm talking about!"

"O-oh... o-okay..." Dancing wheezed.

The Sploth let go of Dancing. The bunny fell to the floor and gasped for breath.

"Get to it," the Sploth demanded.

Shaking, Dancing walked down the stairs to the laboratory. She climbed up the ladder and unscrewed the cork. The chlorine gas was released into the air.

Dancing suffered the same fate as Grassy and died on the spot.

The Sploth continues to haunt that same mansion to this day, interrogating anyone who comes near his ''humble'' abode and tricking them into drinking his signature Void Juice. Whenever he's not tricking innocent Jammers, the Sploth is killing coyotes and eating them.

The moral of this story? Don't drink anything that looks suspicious - especially if it has ''chlorine acid'' and liquefied chlorine gas.

The E-Bookshelf

Hey Jammers! Nafaria here! Welcome to the Animal Jam Whip blog!

Today, we're going to talking about an unreleased item that is only obtainable through AJHQ's files - the E-bookshelf.

Not much is known about the E-bookshelf, other than it supposedly costs a super cheap price of 5 gems, and it's for all Jammers.

Heck, I'm not even sure why it's called the ''E-bookshelf'', but I have a couple of ideas. Perhaps the ''E'' stands for ''earth'', since the bookshelf has an array of vines growing over it and a potted plant sitting on top of it. However, the ''E'' could also mean that, when clicked on, the bookshelf brings up a library of educational mini books, similar to the ones in the Chamber of Knowledge. That would be awesome!

I really hope AJHQ releases this item someday. The unreleased items are almost always the coolest items, in my opinion.

That's all for today. Bye Jammers!

My Favorite Animal Jam Plushies

Hi Jammers! Nafaria here!

Plushies have held a space in my heart ever since I joined Animal Jam, so today I thought it would be fun to choose one plushie from each animal group that I like the most and put its picture in the post. Heh, that kind of rhymed!

Without any further ado, let's start!

The-Claw Wolf-Plushie Rooster

I used to make a plushie comic back in 2013 with this little guy. His name was Chicken Wolf... yeah, pretty basic, I know.

The-Claw Panda-Plushie Black

The-Claw Bunny-Plushie Bowtie

The-Claw Monkey-Plushie Wig

The-Claw Koala-Plushie Wrestling-Mask

The-Claw Seal-Plushie Orange

This seal plushie was the first plushie I won, and it was also the first den item I got.

The-Claw Crocodile-Plushie Rainbow

The-Claw Horse-Plushie Top-Hat

The-Claw Lion-Plushie King

The-Claw Giraffe-Plushie Dragon

The-Claw Fox-Plushie Shoe

The-Claw Fox-Plushie Wig

Yeah, I have two favorite fox plushies. The blue one doesn't really have a story behind it, but the pink one does. The pink fox plushie was Chicken Wolf's best friend in the plushie comic I made. His name was Afro Fox.

Red Raccoon Plushie

The-Claw Deer-Plushie Gift

The-Claw Eagle-Plushie Viking

The-Claw Arctic-Wolf-Plushie Tail-Armor

The-Claw Tiger-Plushie Necklace

The-Claw Lynx-Plushie Purple-Hat
