Animal Jam Spooky Story Contest!

Hello, and welcome back! ^.^ Today I have prepared an exciting contest for y'all to enter.

Since the Night of the Phantoms festivities are coming to an end, why not finish off the month with an Animal Jam-themed spooky story contest?

In this contest, I'm mainly looking for a a short (2-5 paragraphs), Animal Jam-themed spooky story. The setting of your story should be based on the world of Jamaa. I am also looking for excellent description that makes your audience shiver and tingle inside as they read it. ex. eerie sound, pitch black, etc.

I do have a few rules and guidelines, though, so please pay attention here. (:

RULES

- No plagiarizing (copying)! Your story must be yours, and only yours.

- Include your username and status with your entry.

- Absolutely no swear words/vulgar language. If you'd like to express anger in your story, please do so by not cussing.

- Don't go too deep into detail when describing gore. There comes a time when gore crosses the line and makes your reader want to barf rather than creeped out.

GUIDELINES

- Like I said before, I am looking for good detail.

- I also would like to see your story conclude itself. I hate it when I hear ghost stories that end with "and they all died". Try your best to tie your story up with a good, solid thought that leaves your reader thinking, "Wow, that was a really neat story!"

- To submit your entry, you may comment it below or email it to me at nafariaaj@gmail.com.

- The due date for all entries is November 7th, 2015.

Over 470,000 Views!?

Wow. Words cannot express my joy for this big moment! We've reached over 470,000 views. This means a lot to me. Because I was super inactive the whole summer, I was expecting views to take become just as sluggish as me, yet you all kept reading old posts and hoping for new ones. Thank you so much for keeping this blog alive! ^.^ This new "post-whenever-I-feel-like-it" routine has really helped me. I have a lot less to worry about and I'm not as stressed out.

Keep up the viewing! You guys are the best! :)

Abby (a short fictional story)

When I was younger, I had a friend named Abby. She and I made many memories together, but one in particular had changed the way that I look at life forever. It was the day of her death.

It was an average day at Redwood Elementary. Abby and I had just finished savoring our lunches. My stomach was full from a hot bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup. I was all set for the rest of school, and so was Abby.

Almost every time Abby and I ate lunch together, we’d unintentionally keep a routine. We’d sit at the same table and talk about what’s on our minds.

But right before we’d head out to recess, Abby would have to use the restroom. And that’s what’s bugged me ever since we met.

So what if she uses the restroom? It’s not a sin to flush the toilet or wash your hands. I might seem a little crazy, which I am, but bear with me on this.

Abby goes into the restroom, and usually stays in there for about five or even ten minutes. Her longest record is around fifteen minutes. I typically only take about two or three minutes on a regular basis. I mean, come on. It doesn’t take that long to do your thing, even if you have issues. And I know for a fact Abby doesn’t have issues. Otherwise she’d tell me.

This has been going on for quite a while now, and today I decided to ask her what her deal was.

I was walking quietly through the hall, with Abby by my side. She was describing her new puppy, Casper, a Labrador mix, to me.

After she was done talking, I finally spoke up. “So, Abby, how come you use the restroom every single day before recess, and for such a ridiculous amount of time?” I asked with confidence. Hopefully she wouldn’t be offended.

Abby raised an eyebrow, and then began to giggle. “You ask such silly questions,” she said.

“But I’m being serious,” I confirmed.

“Well, it’s not something to worry about,” Abby replied. Suddenly, her eyes fell away from mine, and onto a different person: our teacher, Ms. Nicole. Her jet black hair was as recognizable as ever, as well as her deep, chocolate brown eyes.

“Abby, you wanted to speak with me?” she smiled sweetly and batted her mascara-drenched eyelashes.

Abby stammered and answered softly, “Y-yes, Ms. Nicole, but first I need to use the r-restroom.” Without looking back, Abby left the scene.

Have I mentioned Ms. Nicole’s been spending a lot of time with Abby lately? That’s been bothering me, too. Sure, they’re neighbors, but not close friends.

Since Abby was gone, that meant Ms. Nicole and I were alone together. Great, I thought. I’m missing recess, Abby never answered my question, and now I’m stuck here with Ms. Nicole.

I looked at my teacher. She looked back. I glanced away, and she glanced away. Awkward. I can’t handle awkward. So I improvised, and blurted out the first thing I could think of.

“So, Ms. Nicole,” I started, “do you have any idea why Abby’s been acting this way?”

Ms. Nicole’s makeup-plastered, blush-powdered face went pale. She hesitated for a moment, and then her signature smile stretched across her face.

“No, dear,” she shook her head. “But, now that you mention it, I’ll go in and check on the poor doll.” And just like that, Ms. Nicole had vanished.

Fifteen minutes passed. Recess was halfway over. I began to worry.

“Maybe I’d better see what’s up,” I said to myself.

I opened the restroom door. The lights were off, so I flicked the switch, and the room was lit at last.

“Hello?” I called out. No answer. I tried again, but still no luck.

As I peered further into the room, I noticed that all the stall doors were open
.
That’s weird, I thought. Abby couldn’t have gone anywhere else. Otherwise I’d see her.

I walked into the room, and one by one, I opened each stall door wider to get a better view.

It wasn’t until I had reached the last stall when I found Abby.

It was the most awful sight I had ever experienced. Abby was standing weakly in front of a dark, shadowy figure named Ms. Nicole. A sharp, silver knife with blood stains was pointed directly at Abby’s throat.

Before I could say anything, the knife’s blade swept across Abby’s neck. Her head rolled off her body, onto the tile floor, and bumped into my ankle.

Terrified, I screamed.

My worst nightmare had come true.

I never found out what happened to Ms. Nicole, but I knew one thing for sure.

Abby was dead.

Continuing the Arctic Animal Line

It's Thursday. Another day in our week.

But it just so happens that Thursday is the very day the virtual world of Animal Jam is updated.

And in this update, yet ANOTHER animal will become available for the community to play as.

After SECONDS (whew, what an expedition!) of searching for a clue of what this new animal may be, my eyes landed on a carving in an ice block in Mt. Shiveer.

Ta-da! It's a fox!

The fact that the clue is carved in ice and is located in a snowy climate totally gives it away.

This is not an ordinary fox. It is an arctic fox.

So, here we have a wolf. One of the original animals from the beta stage of AJ.

Then, in December 2012, the Arctic Wolf, a more macho version of the wolf, came into Jamaa.

Now, three years from that time, they are recreating the fox and making an arctic fox. Yeah, a macho fox.

It seems to me like WildWorks is continuing the "Arctic" line of animals.

What are your opinions on this? Leave them in the comments below.

The Return of Enchanted Earth Toys!?

Hello! ^.^

Today I have some fantastic breaking news to share.

Earlier this afternoon, I was surfing Animal Jam blogs when I came across Balaur's Animal Jam Twister. You can visit the site here.

If you click on the link above, you might notice that the most recent post regards Enchanted Earth.

So, to refresh your memory, Enchanted Earth was supposed to be an Animal Jam themed toy line of stuffed plush and figurines. You might remember this post from last spring:

The first character in the Enchanted Earth series was supposedly Naya the Fox, as shown in the image.

The toy line was said to be released sometime "in the near future", which for most of us meant the summer of 2015 or autumn 2015. Clearly that has not happened, and will not happen anytime in the next few months. But trust me, it will happen.

How do I know this for sure, you ask?

Well, if you take a look at WildWorks' Twitter Page, they made a tweet not too long ago about how they've appointed Jazwares as their master toy partner.

See what that article says!?

"Jazwares will develop figures, play set, and plush toys, that will launch globally in 2016."

Enchanted Earth may be returning after all! :D

Spread the word to your friends!

JAZWARES IS DEVELOPING ANIMAL JAM-THEMED TOYS THAT WILL LAUNCH GLOBALLY IN 2016!

OH MY FREAK!!!

That blue penguin in Orange Jamaa's thumbnail is CAPTAIN SILLYBIRD! :O

I made a graphic of her a while ago! Here it is:

Account Issues

Hello Jammers! ^-^

As many of you know, with every update there comes some an extremely annoying glitch that everyone complains about.

This time, it's an account glitch, where some usernames are lost in the database.

Well, it just so happens that my main account, nafaria9, is one of those usernames.

So for the past week, I haven't been able to log in. :c

However, I am capable of logging on storage accounts. c: But that's not important.

At first I thought that my account had been hacked. Yeah, I know - you're probably smirking at me and thinking, "LOL!! L0S3R hecka N00B!!" Ya, well, since when do people NOT panic about their possibly hacked accounts!? :T

Besides, it's not the fact that I don't want my items stolen, because, to be honest, it isn't. .-. Except maybe for that taffy pulling machine... c; Okay, nevermind. It's the fact that someone OTHER than MYSELF is on my account.

ANYWAY...

After I had calmed down and finished typing my very ugly post about getting "hacked" (yes, I am indeed exaggerating), I decided to check the Daily Explorer to see if there was an article about this deranged problem.

Sure enough, there was! :D And it finally came to my mind that this was nothing but a silly glitch, thanks to the PESKY PHANTOMS! *ba-dum-tss*

I sent an email to AJHQ, but it wasn't answered for at least four days. No surprise there. :I

Then, late last night, I was overjoyed to find a reply in my inbox:

I hope they can solve this awful matter soon.

In conclusion, if you are experiencing this same issue, please do the following:

1. Do. Not. Panic. 'Nuff said.
2. Send an email to AJHQ. Be sure to include your username.
3. Patiently wait for a response.

Have a great day, and keep whippin' on! ^.^

The Epic Haunted Manor

Hello Jammers! It's been a while, hasn't it? :) I'm so glad some of you are still reading my posts. I've just been losing interest in Animal Jam and haven't found anything worth posting lately. I've also been very busy with school.

Enough about me! Let's get to the point here, shall we?

You must all have logged on to see a new volume of the Jamaa Journal paper today. Bitter Sweets has made a comeback, bats have flown in to the city... basically, Jamaa has received its spooky spice we like to call Night of the Phantoms.

There's not much wrong with this update, but I found something in particular that upset me and I assume others as well.

There's an all-new den for sale in the Diamond Shop. It's called the Epic Haunted Manor.

At first I glanced at the picture and thought, "Oh, they've renamed the Haunted Mansion." But as I took a closer look, I realized it was more than a haunted mansion. It had puddles of green ooze and a creepy forest.

At last I understood.

This was certainly not a "renamed Haunted Mansion". It was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DEN!

Well, I guess this means we Members can forget our Haunted Mansions and purchase this remade (not renamed) Haunted Mansion with a basement, green ooze puddles, and a forest.

In my opinion, I think AJHQ could have been a little more creative with this new den. I like the idea of it, but to just throw in a den that's already been made? Pfft. What silliness.

What do you think of this new den? What about the rest of this update? Leave your comments in the comment section below.

Thanks for reading!
