Parts of a Christmas Tree... What Do They Mean? (religious but interesting)

Star-the star of Bethlehem which shone down on the newborn king. It guided the Wise Men to Him.

Holly Berries-its prickly and pointy leaves remind us of the nails that were placed in Jesus's hands during his crucifixion, and its red berries tell us of the blood he shed in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Christmas Lights or Candles-these lights symbolize that Jesus is the light of the world.

Wreaths-the circle of the wreaths remind us that the love of God never dies, like circles never end.

Ornaments-ornaments now come in many designs, but the basic colors each have a meaning:

Red-Blood that Christ shed for us
Orange-Gifts for a king
Green-Everlasting life and nature
White-Our sins will be washed and white as snow
Blue-Christ is the Prince of Peace

Christmas Trees-these trees are often evergreen trees, and when they are, they symbolize eternal life.

Candy Canes-if you hold them one way, they become a J for Jesus. If you hold them another way, they represent the staff of the shepherds who visited Jesus as a baby.

Now if you celebrate Christmas and have religious feelings for it, remember that the true meaning of Christmas is giving and remembering Christ. If you do not have these religious feelings for it, the true meaning of Christmas is just giving. :3

Merry Christmas!
