Hello! Today I wanted to talk about the religious symbolism of the scarab beetle, modernly known as the dung beetle.
In ancient Egypt, scarab beetles represented the God Khephra. He is the creator of the midnight sun. His job was to take the sun across the sky so that it can rise into a new day. The beetle itself symbolizes life, death, and rebirth.
Necklaces were made in the shape of scarabs, embedded in gleaming gold and other precious gems. Sometimes, they were placed on the heart of the dead and mummified. The more money the necklace cost, the more important the person was.
Cool ^_^

FINALLY!
ReplyDeleteSomeone else realises the Scarab is actually/may be Khepri!
They're considered "sacred" because they serve (Amun) Ra, the sun god, the creator.
(Except waters and a hill magically appeared out of no where.)
Wow! That's so cool!

Ok, recently I have done a little of experimenting. I have decided to set up a Blogger account. I'm not blogging or anything, I just don't want the impersonater to keep impersonating me. So'll I'll see if this will work.

Yay, this does work! And Tacocat cannot impersonate me anymore! (Except if he does the 'can't log in at the moment' thing. And I can delete my comments now. I still haven't got the hang of these accounts yet. XD

Also, I don't know why but my 'Unknown' comments don't show. Never mind it. XD
