Clans are based off of the book called Warriors by Erin Hunter. In this series, a cat named Rusty wants to check out the nearby forest and meets 3 wild cats by the name of Graypaw, Bluestar, and Lionheart. These are cats from somewhat is a family or group of cats called Thunderclan. There are 4 clans: Riverclan, Windclan, Shadowclan, and Thunderclan. Rusty decides to leave what clans call Twolegs (humans) and his best friend Smudge to join their Clan and help them survive. When he changes his name to Firepaw, he must learn the ways of the Clan.... and possibly become the best warrior of them all.
Apparently at one point, a Jammer was obsessed the the book enough that she or he decided to roleplay the book and it caught on. Now, people who don't even READ the book decide to host a clan, and most of the time those clans don't even EXIST in the book.
I encourage people using their imagination and all to make clans like "SwiftClan" or "LightningClan" or whatever, but some Jammers take it too far. "PoopClan"? "Fat PenguinClan"!? Whaaat!?
Personally, I enjoy that they roleplay a bit of the book, but sometimes people get way too obsessed and decide to fight (SUPER VIOLENTLY) in Sarepia Forest like they do in Warriors. It makes me chuckle when I see dead wolves that eventually turn into golden spirits and "float" up to heaven. LOL!
That's a review of what clans are like on AJ and in the proper book.

I went to this person's den for one of the many ThunderClans. It was so UNORGANIZED!! I mean, everyone wanted to be deputy, the leader left and put some stranger in charge, and everyone started leaving to find new recruits, and who decided to leave because this clan was horrible? THIS GAL!!

DeleteIn almost every clan I'm made deputy (not to brag) and sometimes I actually get mad cuz I want tobe an apprentice, but yea they set a bad example, my first clan was Darkclan, a fox clan and I was Blackclaw until I quit ( I was spending WAYYYY too many gems on it) and then there were several locals I wa in but I quit them on the first day of joining it. Now I am not a cleaner nor a pack wolf.

DeleteClans, are so annoying sometimes. (I am a Clanner) With the swearing and well.. just being jerks! First off in the warrior books the clans don't swear they use words like foxdung, mousebrain, furball, and mousedoung. Not actual bad words that people use. Second off, clans I feel sometimes are overly protective. Like when your walking through serpia. Clanners will instantly run up to you and be like "YOUR ON THUNDERCLAN TERRIOTORY!" Im usually like "I'm only passing through and Im not here to spy." Then I hurry and get out of there. ps. About the swearing thing I have a story about that: I was a kit in this SwiftClan I believe and they kept swearing and I was like.. "Is that appropriate language to use infront of a kit? How do you start a clan?
ReplyDeleteWell, you are going to need a few trees and plants to make a forest, or you can use Sarepia Forest. You'll need a leader, deputy, med cat, warriors, apprentices, and kits. Be realistic! Also, make sure you have a good idea of what you are doing by reading Warriors. If you don't or can't have the book, then you can just read this tab. Also, try not to be TOO violent.

ReplyDeletemy friend said to me in a jam a gram "come where I am to defend kits!", I had no idea what she meant, but I went anyway (as a rabbit, that I styled in some clan clothing and made it look like a kit, she said kit so I just thought it had something to do with it). Anyways, when I got there, there was a bunch of kits jumping on the highrock (throne) saying: "KITS RULE", "WE DESERVE MORE RESPECT!" etc, and the warriors where trying to talk sense into them (well we all know that they cant just pin a kit down or something lol, warrior code) anyways, I just went to the kits den trying to ignore the other kits, when I met afew other kits that agreed with me, anyways, then I got adopted by a queen/warrior, I then became a apprentice at the age of six moons, I didn't know a lot about the books do.
I'm now a warrior finishing the first book (I started reading when my mother said I was ready to become a apprentice, don't judge me T_T)
although, I do agree, no one seems to swear in my clan, but jeez, they kinda do take the "THIS IS OUR TERRITORY" over board.. (some people are just starting clans, and then other people when we say this is our territory they just act rude and powerplay) and also I really don't like how some clans are just way to bloody and weird when it comes to fights.... o_o (oh jeez I'm pretty sure this was long XD)

Partyanimalzz, when I was in a clan(brackenclan) the leader ( burning star) "made" are "hunting grounds" Zios temple. It doesn't always have 2 be Sarepia. Zios is much more emptier and quieter.

ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to be rude, but I really get annoyed when people who don't even READ the books start or join a clan and act totally unprofessional. You can tell when the leader or member of a clan doesn't read the books when..: There fur is not a natural colour for a cat, (ex: green, pink, blue, yellow), they use bad grammar (ex: I'm da leader of da clan >:U) and powerplay, and there names are completely made up (ex: hi my names Sonic boom *I actually met someone with that name..*).. if they didn't read the books, they should start off as kits and learn the ways of training and fighting, THEN become warriors.

ReplyDeleteI'm my opinion snow leopard, and cheetah are the best member animals, for nonmembers I'd use tiger, I happen to wear a bow for fierceness (looks) not for hunting, also why the heck do people who are roleplaying as cats hunt deer, I mean look at the size of a cat, and look at the size of a deer, in my clan anyways, we hunt journey book animals :3. If you don't have enough diamonds, I would use a fox as a last resort. And you can also hunt in your den by using plushies, and yeah NOBODY ACTS LIKE CATS ANYMORE! (A little bit of rage x3) So far I'm on midnight like the 7th book I think, and I got up to that in a week. Also some people say things like -strikes with sword nm nm- HELLOOO in all my life, I've never seen a cat use a sword, bow or any weapons other than claws and teeth

Ya' know what? Well, one day, I was in Sarepia when I hunted a bunny and then let it respawn. So, a deer and that bunny got angry and ganged up on me. I am not a power player, so I followed the rules of animal jam RP fighting. I responded to nns. yeah, so, the deer OVER AND OVER AGAIN kept "stabbing me with her sword" and then she wouldn't let me respawn. SHE WAS SUCH AN IDIOT FREAK. So finally, I just broke the rules and got up anyways. i didn't care because they were being bullies.
Well... If you make a Clan from the book, you DON'T have to follow the storyline of it. Youy can make up your own story or just go with the flow...

But, there's no such thing as a "wolf" clan -_-. I think Jammers just don't know what "clan" means - and that's another thing!
We should use appropriate words for Animal Jam, meaning: also the words we know. Not just, skipping around town, saying: "Wolf clan in my den!" or something.
And what's with all the killing, the violence and the "nn"? I mean, you're just SAYING "blah, blah NN".
Why don't people understand? Adding, the love in clans... they do some nasty junk when there's non-sense and silly love in clans!

ReplyDeleteI keep seeing clan members with swords and spikes. What the heck people. Cats don't wear man made items, especially wild cats. And colors like paint? People. Use natural fur colors. Not greens, reds, and purples. Browns, blacks, greys, etc. I have have noticed an overload of violence, and 99% of it isn't based on what happens in the book. And they use names that aren't even in the book. I approve Scourge having a purple spike and just a plain name, but the other cats come on. Tiny cloud and Cherry blossom? Guys. Seriously, that is a horrible "List" of names. Use names like Grey paw, silver pelt, tiger claw, etc. As long as it has to do with the book. Kitty pets? No. Just no, not online. Don't do EVERYTHING off the book like kitty pets. Clans need wild cats. Sure, one kitty pet is fine, but every single one? Come on people. A lot of clan owners (Like holo) have very trashy clans, and most of them don't even read the books, in fact some don't even know that there is a series. Most people that own clans with ridiculous names (like fashion clan) don't read the books and are wannabes. The reason they don't read the book is, THEY ARE LAZY. I am reading the series right now. And I am determined to finish it. Who knows, maybe i'll have Thunderclan on Aj. Anyhow, people need to get their facts straight. Learn the code, and don't act like a retard. Because they will most likely be the worst leader even known. Choose good warriors, and don't make people elders until their time as a warrior is up. Like Graypaw said, "Elders are retired warriors or queens." Elders should NOT be chosen until their time as a warrior or queen is finished, not half way done, but finished. Any queens should not be dramatic. Like scream in RP when delivering. Do cats do that? No. They wait quietly and hold on of the clan members hand until it is over. Clan members shouldn't be up and about when a queen is delivering, they need to be in a circle witnessing the birth of the new kits. Anyhow, to all of you clan members please follow Nafaria's guide and mine, and take it seriously.

People think it's copyright using names and events from the books. Sure fake Clans annoy some people but clans like SavageClan, AbyssClan, and AzureClan are really powerful and people want to join them. I mean people pretend to be related to Tigerstar and Scourge and that annoys me but it's tolerable because it adds character to them if they plan on going to the Dark Forest or starting a Dark Forest rogue pack or Clan. If someone pretends to be Firestar or a original book character people get kind of annoyed. So we use names like Dawnflower, Stripetail, and Whiteclaws. ~Snowfall

Clans can be rude.... so i never actually joined one. Today i followed my friend, and her brother was playing on her account. And a clan leader called me a cuss word, and i didn't do anything to them. They teased me and i'm only a kid! And i get told these stuff in school. Sometimes, i feel like nothing to everything...

I find it extremely annoying how most roleplayers don't read the books, and then pretend they do to join a clan! Me: "Who's the main character in the first series?" Non book-reader: "JULIAN2!" Me: -.- I also hate it when people wear clothes when they roleplay. I mean, really? Why would you wear a spike, and expect NOT to be called a kittypet?! One more thing I hate is, "BANANACLAN MY DEN!"

I just wish there was a server or maybe a version of animal jam specifically made for role-playing clans, as sometimes it's kinda annoying that there are 'cats' who are pink and have powers. I have nothing against younger players, but I just wish that we could separate the people that actually have read the books or know something about the clans.

ReplyDeleteclans existed long before that... i actullay am a hunter from a clan created back in 2011 called Moon clan. and when i first became a clanner there was no such thing as power players and the book warriors had no relation to AJ clans. i also sometimes get very mad when "Book clanners" thats what i call clanners who base it off the books. get mad at other clans who arent named after books or arent playing by there non-existing rules. especially when they call me a kit and say i cant fight. i really have no problem with people roleplaying the book but this whole "clans are based off the books" thing really gets on my nervs because its completely un-true people can beleive what they want to beleive but i hate getting bullied for not "following the books" im fine with people following the books but leave the rest of the clanners alone... its not that i have a problem with the books in fact they were pretty good. but aj clans were NOT based on them. again i dont want to start a fight i just wanted to let people know the truth

I remember when I was in a clan before I even read the books. It was a clan of about 90 people! All of them were super advanced and the clan was really neat. When I joined, they asked me to show them how I attacked. I seriously had to look up cat anatomy, but they believed me. After I was in, I started to see the bad side of the clan. They would curse and they literally hated ANY other clans. They hated the clans even out of roleplay and would trashtalk them. They would call other clans kittypets even if the clan read the books more than they did! Also, they were true powerplayers. I still think about the clan today and it is very popular nowadays. I won't share the clan's name for privacy reasons since anyone from that clan will most likely recognize me.

(my favorite alpha is greely) and i ran to sarepia where me and my friends were goofing off, and they chased me, then said EVERYONE WHO THINKS SIR GILBERT IS THE BEST ALPHA ATTACK MASTER (my wolf's name is master snowyspirt) then i was like umm... and they disapeared before anyone could respond.
