Graham's Adventure Guide Chart + Nursery Den Tip

If you haven't heard already, the popular seasonal adventure, Graham's Workshop, is back just in time for summer! I felt like making a guide/chart just for this adventure, so that if you're new to it, you have easy access to basic information, like what tools are needed to retrieve certain materials and elements. Enjoy!

Nursery

Need a nice, cozy area for your newly adopted pet to sleep? Look no further! This nursery, created by Rosydaisy30603 will surely rock you to sleep!

What You Need:

Hanging Star Lamp

Pixelated Fence

Arrange the fences so they form a small square. Place the lamp in the corner; this will act as a mobile.  Next, set a pillow or two of your choice in the square. Then decorate the area with plushies and other items.

Coyote Minibook Quiz Answers

Hi Jammers! I hope you've all had a fantastic weekend. ^.^ Summer has officially begun for me, which means I will have lots more time to provide awesome content for the Animal Jam Whip.

As many of you know, coyotes are now in Jamaa and everyone seems to enjoy them. Every time a new animal is released, a new minibook for that animal is also put into the Chamber of Knowledge, which can be found in the Lost Temple of Zios.

Usually, you can find a short quiz at the back of these minibooks to take. If you answer all five questions correctly, you will win a special prize for your den. :D

Secret and Unreleased Items in Crystal Palace Den

Hello there, Jammers! ^-^ I'm Nafaria, and you're reading the Animal Jam Whip blog. Hehe, I sound like one of those people who say ''you're watching Disney Channel''. :P

Anyways, today I am going to be showing you guys some cool, possibly unreleased items in AJHQ's custom-designed Crystal Palace den. If you're unfamiliar with these kinds of posts, basically about every update AJHQ designs a den for all Jammers to visit. You can access these dens from the Epic Dens menu. It's a big blue button; you can't miss it!

In these dens, sometimes you might find a few items that aren't released yet. These are what we call unreleased items. Often times there will also be one special item that, when clicked, will open up a secret shop where you can actually purchase that item for your own. Cool, right?

Without further ado, let's begin taking a look at the cool items we can find.

First up, we have the secret item! It's a blue antique couch on the second floor of the palace. Click on it, and this shop will open up. Purchase your very own couch for 950 gems!

Here is an item we saw last time - a recolored version of the famous baby palm tree.

Sitting atop a tiki umbrella table is a lynx minibook. I wonder if we'll ever be able to buy the minibooks and place them in our dens.

Now these trees are pretty awesome. The fruits on them actually start out small, and gradually grow larger, just like IRL fruit trees!

Finally, this little excavation station can be found in the cave of the den. To my understanding, this item hasn't been released yet, but I could be wrong. Correct me, somebody! >.<

So, what do you guys think of these items? Personally, my favorite is the fruit trees. I think they would make great outdoor decoration for our dens.

The Sweet Chair Promo Item

Hello Jammers! :) The other day, a AJ YouTuber named Shopking (or Theshopking) uploaded a video on a brand new promo item that was recently discovered.

Several weeks ago, I posted about a few promo items from the Sweet Magazine, a children's toy magazine that is currently only available in the UK from my understanding. One item is a sweet poster, and the other is a sweet couch.

I'm sure by the context of the brief summary of that post I just gave, and by looking at the title, you can probably guess what this promo item is going to be. That's right, it's a sweet chair!

It's pretty cute! It basically just looks like someone sliced the couch into three equal parts and the chair is one of them. I believe the legs are popsicle sticks, and the base and head are some sort of frosting-covered pastry, with a dollop of whipped cream as a cushion. Very sweet, if you ask me. :P

Coyotes

Hi Jammers! I hope you all enjoyed yesterday's update! Once again, I apologize for not being able to make an update post when the update came out, but here I am now.

Let's review this week's Jamaa Journal!

Well, it appears AJHQ didn't really get the memo about the majority of the community's opinion on the new Jamaa Journal layout, considering this week's newspaper is similar to the brand-new one we got last time. But hey! Coyotes are finally here, and they are awesome! 

Sadly, they're for members only (what else were you expecting?), and cost 10 diamonds each.

A lot of people seem to really enjoy them, including myself!

A new set of clothing items, called the Wild West Gear, is available in the Diamond Shop for a limited time only in celebration of the arrival of coyotes! Although they are located in the armor section of the store, the items do not provide extra damage to obstacles in adventures.

You might find some other western items in stores as well...

Pet Sharks have arrived! It's been a while since we've had a new underwater pet, right?

Lions are now gone, but dolphins are coming back!

The Animal Creation Process

Hey Jammers! Yes, I will not be able to post about the upcoming update until tomorrow, and I apologize for that. Hopefully this post will interest you guys enough to make up for it. :P

Today, we're going to be talking about the animal creation process for Animal Jam. Tons of work is poured into the creation of every single animal that comes to Jamaa. Recently, the lead character designer for AJ, Taylor Maw (who I also mentioned earlier this week), made a post on social media describing this long and excruciating process. Most of the information from this post comes from his post.

Each animal takes about three months to make, and also takes lots of team effort and talented team members for that matter. The animals are built using a 3D modeling program called Maya. Below is a picture of an artist using Maya to construct a monkey.

After the base of the body is built, eyes, patterns, and nearly 800 accessories are custom fitted for that specific animal. Boy, that must take a really long time... whew. o.o

Then, artists illustrate the animal in a program called Adobe Illustrator to bring it to life through game and marketing assets. For example, do you remember the coyote that sits on the background of the current Animal Jam home page? That's basically what this part is talking about. ^.^

Next, programmers develop the animal into the game and create actions for it, like how it walks, sleeps, plays, etc.

Making a new animal is hard work, but it's all worth it in the end!

AJPW Google Play Award + Cool Costume Ideas

Hello Jammers! Welcome to the Animal Jam Whip!

Did you know that AJPW (Animal Jam Play Wild) was nominated for the 2017 Google Play awards, and won!?

That's right! AJPW received the title of Best App for Kids! Here is a photo of Clark Stacey, the CEO of WildWorks, receiving the award. WildWorks is the company that created Animal Jam and AJPW.

I think it's so neat how far this company has come. This award is a big milestone for WildWorks, and we as a community couldn't be more proud! ^.^

Meanwhile, I've come up with two new outfit ideas for your AJ animals! These will be added to the Costume Corner, which you can view by clicking on the clothing icon on right hand sidebar of the blog.

Fox Glitch + Item Edits

Hey Jammers! :D

Today I don't really have very much information that I would consider ''news'', but I do have some cool things to show you guys.

First off, a good friend of mine showed me this interesting glitch that occurs when you wear a flower tail on a fox and do the play action.

As you can see, the flower tail doesn't disappear like the rest of the accessories that the fox is wearing when it goes into the hole. I know this glitch is pretty well known and often occurs with other items too, but I also feel like this hasn't been patched for as long as it has been going. I mean, it's not super annoying or anything, but still.

Anyways... moving on!

I was bored a few days ago, and decided to try and create some AJ item edits. A lot of Jammers have social media accounts dedicating to posting edits of things in Animal Jam, so when someone named Ace Vortux posted a free edit template, I decided to make some of my own!

Some of them are kind of messy, like the top hat. I tried making the marble flooring a bit more AJ-like, but that didn't work out too well. *shrugs*

Animal Jam Concept Art
